Pure and Simple Soap We make our soap the old fashioned way: We use an enamel pot and a wooden spoon in our humble factory in front of the public. We use the finest ingredients available in the manufacture of our soap: olive oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, castor oil. These natural oils are blended with water and sodium hydroxide (used as a binder), along with "essential" oils and herbs to produce soaps that are very mild. We do not use animal by-products, nor do we do any testing on animals (We tried it on Bubba, the shop cat, and he didn't like it.) Once our soap has set, we cut and wrap each bar by hand using a hand operated cutter and hand-printed labels, in a manner similar to the way it was done in the nineteenth century. Our "Barn"-factory is located in Columbia State Historic Park; a restored Gold Rush era town where artists dress in period clothing, and work in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Even though our "Barn" has no running water, we produce as much as two and a half tons, or 18,000 bars of soap annually. Our soap is sweet-smelling and very mild, making it ideal for face and body, or for shaving, even shampoo! We sell our soap primarily through our Columbia location, or you can place an order via mail- Single Bars are $4.25 each + tax Click
